Welcome to this community creative writing project from Liverpool based charity North End Writers, looking at the centenary of the First World War. This project is supported by the National Lottery through the Heritage Lottery Fund, http://www.hlf.org.uk/Pages/Home.aspx
Have you got a picture that evokes the 1914- 1918 war, that strikes a chord with you, something you would like to write about? It could be a photo of a relative who served in WW1, a drawing you’ve completed – in fact any image of an interesting object, building or person linked in some way with the First World War.
Do you have, or would you like to write, a short piece that it inspires? This could be a letter or a poem, a short story or the recollection of a dream – in fact any form of words that you think works with your picture. The only rule is that you must own or have permission to use the image and it has to be your own original writing, no more than 400 words in length.
If you are new to writing but really aren’t sure what or how to write something, North End Writers is holding a number of workshops, where we will support you and help you to get started. The dates and venues are published on the Workshop page and more may be added so keep checking back if you don’t find one that suits.

We will be publishing submissions here and also holding exhibitions of selected work at a number of community and arts venues throughout the city region.
